Lynn A. Dana

PA-C, CAQ-Psych

Approaching my work with a unique blend of compassion and collaboration, I consider it an incredible gift to be able to do what I do. Witnessing individuals in their most vulnerable states and guiding their transformation is both humbling and deeply rewarding.

With a journey that began in 2014, I've have been a Physician Assistant, embracing diverse environments that include psychiatry, functional medication, and primary care. These collective experiences have shaped the essence of my practice, resulting in a holistic approach that bridges these realms.

On a personal note, my roots trace back to Salem, Virginia, where I was born and raised on a horse farm. Today, my heart finds its home in Asheville, alongside my cherished family – my husband, son, and German Shepherd. I find joy in precious moments spent with my loved ones, active engagement within our church community, and playing pickleball.

TREATMENT FOCUS AREAS

Anxiety

Anxiety can often leave individuals feeling lost within the intricate maze of worry and unease. The complexities of life can easily become overwhelming, resulting in a profound sense of detachment. At our practice, we offer a comprehensive approach to address these challenges.

Our treatment strategies encompass a range of tools, including medication interventions that modulate serotonin, beta blockers, and carefully administered doses of benzodiazepines. However, our approach extends beyond medications alone. We emphasize the pivotal role of nurturing the body with nourishing nutrition, steering clear of caffeine, incorporating regular physical activity and adequate rest.

Moreover, we recognize that therapy is a vital cornerstone of healing. In conjunction with medication management, we advocate various therapy modalities tailored to your unique needs, considering EMDR for cases involving trauma.

We want to help you restore balance and empower you to reconnect with a life filled with clarity and vitality.

ADHD

ADHD can manifest as a whirlwind of rapid thoughts and impulsive actions, often causing disruptions to the rhythm of everyday existence. To ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment, we may collaborate with our trusted community partners. They can provide thorough diagnostic assessments that encompass psychometric testing and the use of standardized behavior rating scales.

Our approach to managing ADHD is multifaceted. We offer a range of treatment options, including both non-stimulant and carefully administered stimulant medications, each chosen based on individual needs and circumstances. However, our commitment to your well-being extends beyond medication.

Incorporating mindfulness techniques into our strategies, we equip you with tools to navigate the challenges posed by ADHD. Additionally, recognizing the profound impact of technology on our lives, we emphasize the significance of taking mindful breaks from its constant presence.

Together, we aim to transform the whirlwind of ADHD into a journey of self-awareness and empowerment. We want to help you restore harmony to your daily life and help you thrive in a world that demands your attention.

We want to help to guide you toward a place of self-discovery, resilience, and renewed vitality.

Bipolar

Bipolar disorder presents itself as a rollercoaster of intense mood fluctuations that can profoundly disrupt daily routines, strain relationships, affect financial stability, and undermine overall well-being. Understanding the profound impact it can have, we underscore the criticality of seeking an accurate diagnosis.

Our treatment approach is rooted in a commitment to your holistic health. Using a combination of contemporary and established medications, we prioritize those with minimal side effects to ensure your journey towards stability is smooth.
